Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on the VETZY website at vetzy.io, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences. It forms part of, and should be read together with, the VETZY Privacy Notice (vetzy.io/privacy) and the VETZY Terms and Conditions (vetzy.io/terms). Where terms are defined in those documents, the same meaning applies here.

• vetzy.io currently uses only strictly necessary cookies. No advertising, analytics or third-party tracking cookies are installed.
• No consent banner is required for strictly necessary cookies; we still publish this Policy for full transparency.
• If we add analytics or marketing cookies in the future, the consent banner will appear before they are installed.
• You can manage cookies in your browser at any time. You can opt out of group-level marketing emails through the unsubscribe link in each communication.

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences and language, to keep you signed in, to measure how people use a site and to deliver advertising. The term \u201Ccookies\u201D in this Policy also covers similar technologies, including:

• Local storage and session storage in your browser.
• Web beacons, pixels and tracking scripts.
• Software development kits embedded in mobile apps or chat platforms.
• Server-side identifiers that play a similar role to cookies.

We use the term \u201Ccookies\u201D as a shorthand for all of the above unless we specify otherwise.

We classify cookies into four standard categories. Each category has a different legal regime under UK PECR, the EU ePrivacy Directive, the EU GDPR and the Swiss FADP, depending on whether the cookie is strictly necessary or requires your prior consent.

At the date of this Policy, vetzy.io is intentionally minimal in its cookie usage. We use only strictly necessary cookies and a single first-party local-storage key for language preferences. We do not currently load any analytics or advertising cookies.

In addition to cookies, vetzy.io loads a small number of third-party resources to render correctly. These resources do not set marketing or analytics cookies on your device today.

We are evaluating self-hosting these resources to further reduce third-party data flows. Any change will be reflected in this Policy.

To be transparent about what is not happening, we confirm that vetzy.io does not currently use:

• Google Analytics, Plausible, Matomo, PostHog or any other web-analytics product.
• Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, X / Twitter Pixel or any advertising-network pixel.
• Google Tag Manager or any equivalent tag-management container.
• Heat-mapping or session-replay tools such as Hotjar, FullStory, Microsoft Clarity, Mouseflow.
• Programmatic advertising or remarketing cookies.
• Social-media share or login widgets that set third-party cookies.

If and when any such technology is added, it will be classified per section 2, listed in section 3 and will require your prior consent if non-essential. The consent banner will appear before any such cookie is installed.

Under the current set-up no consent banner is shown to you, because the website only uses strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies. The strictly necessary category is exempt from prior consent under UK PECR (regulation 6), the EU ePrivacy Directive (article 5(3)) and the relevant Swiss guidelines.

If we introduce functional, analytics or marketing cookies, we will deploy a consent management platform that meets the following requirements:

• Prior, free, specific, informed and unambiguous opt-in, expressed by a clear affirmative action (no pre-ticked boxes, no scroll-as-consent, no continued-browsing-as-consent).
• Equal prominence for \u201CAccept\u201D and \u201CReject\u201D buttons on the first layer of the banner.
• Category-by-category granular controls before consent is given.
• Easy and equally simple withdrawal of consent at any time, through a persistent link in the footer of the website.
• A consent log capturing what was shown, when, in which language, and what the user chose, retained as evidence.
• Re-prompting at reasonable intervals or whenever new categories are added.

Until that platform is deployed, no consent banner is required for the cookies currently active.

You can manage and delete cookies directly in your browser at any time. The exact steps depend on the browser you use:

• Google Chrome: Settings \u2192 Privacy and security \u2192 Cookies and other site data.
• Apple Safari (desktop): Settings \u2192 Privacy \u2192 Manage Website Data.
• Mozilla Firefox: Settings \u2192 Privacy & Security \u2192 Cookies and Site Data.
• Microsoft Edge: Settings \u2192 Cookies and site permissions \u2192 Manage and delete cookies and site data.
• Apple Safari on iOS: Settings \u2192 Safari \u2192 Advanced \u2192 Website Data.
• Google Chrome on Android: Settings \u2192 Site settings \u2192 Cookies.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the website, in particular the security challenge and the language selection. Blocking non-essential cookies (when introduced) will not affect the core functionality.

You can also use private or incognito browsing modes, which discard most cookies at the end of the session.

Some browsers transmit a Do Not Track (DNT) signal or a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal to the websites you visit. The current set-up does not place any non-essential cookies, so these signals have no practical effect today. If we add non-essential cookies, we will treat GPC as a valid opt-out signal where required by applicable law (in particular under EU and Swiss interpretations).

VETZY runs primarily inside WhatsApp Business Platform and Telegram Bot Platform. These messaging platforms have their own cookie and tracking technologies, which are governed by the privacy policies of their operators (Meta and Telegram respectively). When you chat with VETZY inside those apps, the cookie policy of the relevant platform applies, in addition to ours.

If and when third-party advertising or analytics cookies are introduced, you can manage them through the following industry tools, in addition to your browser settings:

• European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance: youronlinechoices.eu.
• Network Advertising Initiative: optout.networkadvertising.org.
• Digital Advertising Alliance (US): optout.aboutads.info.
• Google opt-out: adssettings.google.com.
• Meta opt-out: facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads.

We will update this Policy with the specific opt-out flows of each tool actually used.

We rely on the following legal bases:

• Strictly necessary cookies: regulation 6(4)(a) and (b) of the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), article 5(3) second sentence of the EU ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, and the corresponding Swiss guidelines for cookies necessary to deliver an explicitly requested service.
• Functional, analytics and marketing cookies, when introduced: prior opt-in consent under article 5(3) first sentence of the EU ePrivacy Directive, regulation 6 of the UK PECR, and the Swiss revised FADP.

Where cookies process personal data, the lawful basis under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR is the one identified in our Privacy Notice for the relevant purpose (consent for non-essential, legitimate interests for security and abuse prevention).

Where cookies process personal data, you can exercise all the rights described in the Privacy Notice, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@vetzy.io.

We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove cookies, when we change processors, or when applicable law evolves. The most recent version is always published at vetzy.io/cookies, with a clear \u201CLast updated\u201D date. For material changes, in particular when new tracking technologies are introduced, we will deploy a consent banner before activating them.
